after looking at the neuro mri results they still couldn't pinpoint what the heck happened...i surprised the radiologist when i told him that the pain is mostly gone. he said it might've been a strain injury, and asked if i remember hurting it...i don't. i asked him why i was in that much pain, and even stranger, what would make it go away? he had no idea. he said my cancer was so diffuse that they can't point to one particular reason...he thought it was okay to wait before radiating, because he didn't even know if the radiation would help. if the pain comes back, though, he said we could start right away and see if it does the trick. all i can say is bullet dodged for the moment. it's as if i was in a trial run. i am no longer "narcotic naive", and now i have a handrail from my bedroom, a walker and cane in my basement, and a lot of people offering a lot of help. i have the word out there that i'm looking for an assistant. i'm getting a referral to a pain management specialist, so i'll be more ready for the next time.
i'll tell you one thing i learned for sure...it is so wonderful to be able to walk...truly wonderful.
