we spent the weekend in the most glorious place. i took pictures on my phone but i don't think i'll ever be able to share them and i'll tell you why in a minute. this was the first time i've been to my friend's house in the mountains. they built this magnificent home from the ground up over 25 years ago...
everywhere i looked my eyes met beauty. the house itself is amazing...and the land is something else. there's a waterfall leading into the pool (which looks like a lake), and the hot tub (a mini lake)... and the natural redwood cathedral... ah...it was just the four of us, and it was like being at a star resort...hot tubs in the mornings and evenings, and swimming and lounging all day...i almost never use the word perfect, but that word just kept coming out of me... i found a great book on their shelves, and i just relaxed and felt well...
one of the most amazing things about this "multi star resort" is that it is always being shared with people who could not afford to get there on their own. that's the way our friends are. it was their purpose in building this little paradise...to share the very best with folks who might never have the chance to experience such beauty and peace.
and the food they served us, mmm mmm. and that brings me to the paella incident. i was sitting inside the house, while mitchell was outside watching darrel cook...all of a sudden i heard naomi say, "oh-oh something bad happened"...i thought someone was hurt, but it wasn't a person that was in danger...it was a thing...mitchell was about to take a picture of the paella, when darrel accidentally knocked into mitchell's hand at which time his beloved iphone fell into the pan. it didn't take more than a second before mitchell put his hand into the burning pot and rescued it... he began dabbing it (very gently) with a paper towel...he said it would be a miracle if it still worked...and it did...how nice for him...
we came home from our happy little vacation and i wanted to look at the pictures i took on my own phone...couldn't... my phone was dead. somehow i jammed the charger part and that was that...all those pictures...mitchell jackknifing into the pool, me arms outstretched beside the redwood cathedral...i came home and had to go buy a another phone. isn't that the way of the world...his phone drops into the paella and mine is the one that dies.
in other news, lynne's painting came today...hooray, i love her art and i love her. she gave me the painting with the intention of bringing good vibes into my health department. just in time too, because my cyberknife appointment is this thursday, on the full moon... gulp...
You're cyberknife is going to go just fine, I know it. I love you.
