that describes my latest mental invention. it will, no doubt, go the way of the "greater grater" for the greater good, which i developed (also in my mind) after scraping my thumbs over parmesan too many times, or the couple-comfort-her, which would be a blanket that had two levels of thickness and warmth...rendering those middle of the night arguments moot...
anyhow, i was about to iron my clothes and i couldn't find my glasses. after forty something years of perfect vision, i now need them for everything close by. the more frustrated i was getting, the more clear my invention was becoming. a beeper for my peepers...the principle is sort of like what we have on our house phones. (am i the only one who still has a landline). if you can't find one of the two, you press a button on the one you have and it beeps so you can find the other one...if i could just have a peeper beeper sitting somewhere in the house, i would never be too far from my glasses. it's probably already marketed on some oddball cable station in the middle of the night, but if not, any of you are welcome to work on it. i'd buy one, even though i hate beeps...
just yesterday i was bugging mitchell about the stove beeping. he likes to time things when he cooks, which apparently is the way to go, but i can't stand the sounds...we had our usual argument about it, and he told me to "get used to it, as you get older you'll be needing more and more beeps"...i told him that's one more good reason for not getting older...but here i am, only a day later, nearly inventing another bleeping reason for beeping...
eventually i went out to my car, where i keep a back up pair and went to put them on my head for safe keeping (as i always do)...well, any of you over 50 will know this punchline...they knocked into the glasses that were already on my head...

you've got me laughing out loud with beepers for my peepers...I'm jest silly from it...I'm remembering "Saturday Night Fever" playing at the Castro for the first time...you went and saw it and came home talking about it...I then started listening to disco...beep beep...and more...LOVE YOU WAVE. I just tuned in tonight here, for the first time in months..
