i saw a lovely film yesterday...it was beautiful and simple, and complex too. unmistaken child is a documentary about a shy tibetan monk's search for the reincarnation of his beloved teacher, who died in 2001. he was given a task, which he humbly accepted, despite his self doubts...he was told of two astrological omens, and sent on his way to search for the recently incarnated child. his good heart and pure love for his teacher was so evident, and downright inspiring. watching the tibetan culture and people kept a smile on my face throughout the film, and i teared up a couple times too...the whole experience was a fine reminder that there is more to this world than meets my eye...i don't know about reincarnation, but i'm open to the possibility...partly into the film, i turned to mitchell and said, "i love this search". it was so magical.
